Celebrating the River Thames

歡慶倫敦命脈－泰晤士河節

One of the highlights of this year’s Mayor’s Thames Festival will be the Source to Sea River Relay. 今年泰晤士河節的高潮之一是「泰晤士河接力賽」。

This will involve teams of runners, swimmers, kayakers, paddle boarders, and boaters carrying a bottle of water for 15 days from the source of the Thames all the way to the sea. 接力賽總共進行十五天，由各隊的賽跑、游泳、划輕艇、划槳板運動及划船好手攜帶著一瓶水接力，從泰晤士河源頭出發並沿著泰晤士河一路向出海口。

The other major event is the wonderful Great River Race, a 34-kilometer race for traditional non-motorized boats. 另一項重要的活動是精彩的「泰晤士河划船比賽」，由傳統無馬達裝置的船進行三十四公里的比賽。

This event not only appeals to serious crews from all around the world, but also to teams racing for charity, during which they sail old-fashioned boats for a bit of fun. 這項比賽不只吸引了來自世界各地的好手參與，也吸引了為慈善而賽的隊伍，他們開著老式的船別有一番樂趣。

This event promises to be a fun time for the whole family.
